If you or your family are looking for your next challenge Kiltwalk is being run on the 26th of September this year and has options for The Mighty Stride (16.5 miles) that leaves in the morning from Glasgow Green and finishes in Meadow Leisure Centre in Dumbarton or The Wee Wander (3.5 miles) that leaves from Glasgow Green in the afternoon and finishes at the Riverside Museum.

Thanks to their Headline Sponsor, Arnold Clark, everyone signed up is in with the chance to win a new Hyundai i20!

This is a great fundraising opportunity for the club as all funds raised are topped up by an additional 50% by the Hunter Foundation. So if you raise £100, the club receive £150.

Details and sign up can be found here or by going to www.thekiltwalk.co.uk/scotlandskiltwalk. There are limited places this year so sign up quick.

When signing up, you can select “Kingston Amateur Swimming Club” in the charity search box.

Remember to post your training pics and fundraising link to the Kingston Facebook group. If you also advise the start time you selected during registration other Kingston members can then try and select the same start time so you can walk together.

Dear Parents/Carers/Volunteers/Swimmers

Due to the coronavirus outbreak it is highly likely that we will have to cancel swim training sessions in the very near future. Please keep an eye out for e-mails/texts and facebook with the latest updates as this is likely to be very short notice dependent on when we have updated information from Scottish Swimming- we are currently still awaiting the outcome of todays discussion.

In the meantime it is imperative that no swimmer, coach or carer attends if they have any symptoms of new persistent cough or fever or there is any history of contact with a confirmed covid 19 case or travel to or from a significantly affected area.

We would also like to remind those who do attend to observe strict hygiene principles of hand washing and swimmers must shower before entering the Pool. We cannot guarantee that other users of the Pool will have followed these principles and also it is a possibility that asymptomatic people who have the virus could be present.

We completely respect that all parents/carers may have their own feelings about this and may opt not to send their children to swimming. It would be helpful if we could have an idea of numbers so we know whether it is realistic to run training or not.

Scottish Swimming have issues advice for Clubs as regards the coronavirus outbreak which can be found here – http://www.scottishswimming.com/newsroom/news/2020/03/advice-for-clubs.aspx

Thanks very much for your understanding.

Kingston ASC AGM Minutes 28th January 2019

October 30th, 2019, 3:10 pm

Date:  Sunday, 3rd November 2019
Session One : Warm up at 9.00 am – Competition Start at 9.45 am
Session Two : Warm up at 1.15 pm – Competition Start at 2.00 pm
Venue Larkhall Leisure Centre, Broomhill Road, Larkhall ML9 1QP

Swimmers should aim to arrive about half an hour before the warm up starts, get changed and check in with the Kingston Team manager poolside. We have 31 Kingston swimmers in the first session so please DO NOT bring  swim bags poolside or we will have a huge pile of bags! Put your bag in a locker and bring your cap and goggles, reusable bottle of water, Kingston T shirt and a spare towel to the poolside, plus a snack if you will need one.

All swimmers should be present for the warmup at the start of their session even if they are not swimming until later in the session.  There will be plenty of Kingston support poolside for inexperienced competitors.

If your child is leaving before the end of the session, or leaving poolside for any reason, they MUST inform the team manager ( the people in T-shirts with Team Manager on them!) to save hunting for missing children later on.

Events are run in heats from slowest to fastest swimmer.

There is a small entry charge for spectators, and we hope you will also support our Tombola, raffle and tuck shop.

KINGSTON ASC MONTHLY FEES CHANGE – OCTOBER 2019

Dear Members,

The Kingston Committee is obligated to review monthly fees on a regular basis to
ensure the club runs in a financially viable manner.

We have been doing this to make sure the club’s swimming programme is sustained
by the correct level of fees, taking into consideration similar programmes offered
throughout the central belt.

At the early part of this year it was agreed by the Committee to review our fees in line
with a financial forecast for the next 12 months. It was then agreed that a fee increase
should be worked out and proposed. The Committee have discussed the fees issue
over a period of a couple of months prior to the summer break, taking on board
different points of view from Committee members and our Head Coach, before voting
on the final proposal.

As a result, the Committee have adopted the following fees structure with effect from
1st October 2019:

SQUAD                                        MONTHLY FEE (from Oct 19)
TP1                                                £14.00
TP2                                               £14.00
BP1                                                £28.00
BP2                                                £28.00
BP3                                                £28.00
MP1                                                £28.00
MP2Short Course                       £36.00
MP2Long Course                        £36.00

We would be grateful if standing orders could be updated accordingly, effective from
1st October 2019.

Many thanks for your cooperation and support.
