For the attention of all parents
Your swimming club needs YOU! It was several months after being at the club that I discovered it was run by volunteers. Apart from the Head Coach and now, 2 assistant head coaches everyone else in the club is a volunteer and that means parents are actively involved with helping in the club. Everything including coaching, organising attendance at meets (swimming galas), time keeping, judging, collecting our monthly fees and doing the finances, time trials, organising trips out for the kids, recording all the kids times from meets and sending out personal best certificates etc etc, it’s all run by volunteers made up mostly of parents, ex-swimmers, current swimmers and also some additional volunteers who wish to volunteer specifically for Kingston.
With the AGM coming up at the end of January, we will shortly be promoting all the different roles that have vacancies. Please do chat to us and find out more and see how you can get involved. You’ve all got skills that can help us and without volunteers the club can’t run. The roles are pretty small and many can be done while you are at the poolside during training/lessons or while at a meet. There are also plenty of opportunities for anyone wishing to shadow roles.
