The Committee decided to review the Club’s coaching requirements and agreed to the creation of 2 assistant coach positions to help the club develop further.
It was agreed to advertise for an assistant coach, with the responsibility for the day-to-day running of the junior swimmer development programme in the Teaching and Boom pools. In addition, a second coach would be sought to assist with the training and development of our senior swimmers in the main pool.
The Club held interviews this week and we are pleased to announce the assistant coach in charge of the Teaching and Boom Pools will be Gary Parsons. Gary joins us from Swimwell Scotland where he has been a level 2 coach for the last 18 months. Gary was previously a swimming teacher with Glasgow Sport for 4 years, during which time he also volunteered as a coach with Kingston. Gary was also a Level 2 teacher with Making Waves for 2 years.
We are also happy to confirm Hannah Paterson has accepted the position of assistant coach, working on the development of our senior swimmers in the main pool. Hannah has been helping at Kingston for a few months now and its great to finalise a permanent role for her within the club.
Both Gary and Hannah will take up their new positions on November 21st and I hope you will join us in welcoming them both into Kingston ASC.
We would also like to take this opportunity to again thank Rebecca Boyle along with Rebecca Burns for their contributions and commitment to Kingston over the past months and years.
