M&B Graded Meet – Coaches Report

I would like to start by congratulating every swimmer than took part over the weekend. Every one came away with a Personal Best that showed that as a club we are improving. Not to mention the laughs and giggles we had on poolside. Once again we showed other clubs what a team spirit is all about.

Special mention must go to David “BIG DAWG” Brown for his astonishing 2 Golds (100m Free & 100m Fly) and a Bronze (100m Breast). Looking over the results David was the best boy in his age group. Not to be out done, the other boys, David Wood and Chris Perceval-Maxwell each got a Silver for their 100m breast (different age groups).

Although the Girls did not get any medals, all swam out their skin and showed that all the hard work is paying off. This was the first time that the girls had been to a competition of this standard and all worked hard to show that they deserve to be there. Some of the P.B’s were out of this world. Some going 15-20 seconds faster than before. As a coach we can not ask for anything else. So proud of the girls and their effort.

On the back of this, it would appear that despite being a club with a lot of girls, it’s the boys that are stepping up. Who’s better, Girls or Boys?? Time to decide….
