With great difficulty I have managed to secure another date to bag-pack. This is the first bag-packing opportunity we have had for a year, as opportunities to raise funds in this way are becoming increasingly limited. I also wrote to Morrisons and Tesco last month to try and arrange bag-packing there, and I have not even had a reply from either. All the more reason that parents and swimmers make the most of this opportunity in June to raise some funds for your club.
Bag-packing is an excellent fund-raising opportunity and we would ask as many people as possible to participate (both parents and swimmers). The more people who volunteer to help on the day (even for one hour), the more profitable the day will be for raising funds.
The bag packing helps fund, or at least helps keep the costs down, for everything we do such as fun nights, shared equipment, coach training, timekeeper training, team buses, pens, stamps etc.
Children under 12 years of age must be accompanied by an adult. We therefore need parents to help on the day as well as swimmers – this also shows support for the swimmers, and recognises the time and effort that the coaches and committee members put in on the swimmers’ behalf.
More details will be available nearer the time.
Please note this date in your diary and try and help if at all possible – thanks!
Sinead.
